Miles of Hope: Winged Migration

Alfredo Bremont: Trojan horse ends up driving itself toward an impasse

VHeadline.com commentarist Alfredo Bremont writes: In this confused and changing society, values have deteriorated in such a way that it is no longer evolution and refinement of the human species that is pursued.

It is rather a paradoxical comfort zone in which on one hand, we have a small group of individuals who boast possessions, and display their privileges in order to divide society. They achieve this by creating large numbers of individuals that exist in the hope of becoming well-to-do and receiving the recognition of their fellow citizens.

Moreover, there are other small groupings that behave like the superior crowd, which is allegedly leading society towards its zenith.

The problem here is that the mechanism used is tantamount to a mechanical performance and not towards the enhancement and excellence of individual moral values. This behavior creates a Trojan horse by which the mind, rather than seeking its evolution, ends up driving itself toward an Impasse, and mistakes evolution as the line of reasoning implicit in a momentary position, which is achieved by the oppression of others and their compliance to a predestined will.

Those who are indeed gifted find themselves deprived of influence, while the masses worship the golden calf, which is nothing more than pure propaganda.

The alibi for these lost crowds turns into the continuity of purchasing daily products by individuals who need them for their external appearance, creating huge amounts of waste and feeling even lonelier than they previously were, ending up totally dependent on acquiring and changing products, which they must possess in order to be socially acceptable.

This has become the definition of progress, which is driving human society towards its own destruction, both spiritually and environmentally.

The outcome results in confusion and individual psychological derangement, destroying any technological novelty which is metamorphosed into an enslavement device. This eventually puts the individual at odd with its own nature and pushes him towards its own destruction.
